If you’re into a bit of the old verse and prose… a certain award winning pub in Sligo town is where it’s at this year. To celebrate Yeats 2015, Hargadon’s are running Yeats at One, a daily event where poetry lovers can come along at 1pm every weekday, to read their favourite Yeats poem. If you can’t make lunchtime, this will also run at 6pm on Sundays. Yeats at One runs for the whole year, open to regulars and visitors alike. One for the diary if you happen to be touring this area during 2015 and you’d like to take part, or just go along to listen to the poem of the day. Also to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere at Hargadon’s, a pub which still maintains the friendly feel of an Irish pub from yesteryear. A characterful interior with original features, little nooks and crannies and snug private booths to cosy up in with friends or family. Plus fantastic pub food based on local produce and great cooking. Readings must be booked in advance, by email to email@example.com or on twitter @hargadonsligo .Or do it the old fashioned way and call Joe on (00 353) 71 915 3714.
