OverviewThe village of Moycullen, just outside Galway on the Clifden road, is home to White Gables Restaurant, Café, and Deli. Anne and Kevin Dunne opened here in 1991 and since then have very firmly established themselves on the culinary destination map as a place to go for wonderful local food. Visitors can enjoy a full table service dining experience in the restaurant, shop for the finest local and artisan produce in the deli and enjoy the deli offerings in the cafe.
White Gables is housed in an old stone cottage dating back to the 1920s. Cooking is traditional and is focused around seafood classics such as seafood cocktail Marie Rose, poached fresh halibut Veronique, and scallops Mornay. The classic dishes are enhanced by the classic atmosphere and ambience created by the intimate, candlelit interior with its warm red tones and floral lampshades. Watch out for seasonal offers, such as wonderful homemade pies in November.
Dining at the White Gables Restaurant feels like a special occasion every time thanks to personal touches and lovely details like the bunches of fresh flowers that adorn the place, even in the spotless bathrooms; the mint chocolates served with coffee; and the professional, attentive service.
Much like the classic seafood dishes, meat dishes make no concessions to whims of culinary fashion and with some justification: the traditional roast duckling with orange sauce is one of the most popular dishes on the menu. A comprehensive and exciting wine list compliments the food offerings.
The menus at White Gables Restaurant following a seasonal pattern allowing the best of local ingredients shine on the plate.
Enjoy… from White Gables stock an amazing selection of local produce and craft items in celebration of artisan producers.
