The food offerings in the Dunraven Arms Hotel are a real treat, especially for those guests looking for a taste of Ireland and that legendary Irish hospitality.
Breakfast and dinner take place in The Maigue dining room, which is a gloriously traditional space with the feel of yesteryear in style and service.
For a more casual dining option, Hunter’s Bar, with its sophisticated jazz club atmosphere, is the place to go for great drinks and bar food or you could enjoy these in the beautifully light and bright conservatory space.
Serving breakfast and dinner daily, the Maigue Restaurant offers flavoursome Irish cuisine with a contemporary twist.
The Maigue is the formal dining room of The Dunraven Arms and it is a beautiful, elegant space with period features, crisp white linen clad tables, sparkling silver and glassware and a graceful silver service style. The room and service is totally in keeping with the sense of tradition of this old hunting lodge turned luxury hotel.
Menus offer a choice of first courses and mains centred around local and Irish produce. You’ll be spoiled for choice with all the lovely dishes, but it must be said that the speciality of the house is the wonderful prime roast rib of Irish beef, which is carved in the old fashioned way from the silver trolley in the centre of the dining room. It’s very theatrical.
Eating breakfast in such elegant surrounds is a fabulous way to start your day. The big buffet includes all the usual cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, juices and fresh baked breads and this is followed up with a hot selection which includes a full leg of glazed roast Limerick ham served from the trolley. This impressive joint is carved by hand and slices are generous. Enjoy them with all the traditional Irish breakfast accompaniments which makes for a breakfast feast suitable for royalty.
